My book of Tando, Session 3

Goodness The third session already!   These are so much fun to do, this time using one of my favourite ways to colour Glimmer Mist spray paints.  So lets get right to it.

Once again starting with a 6" x 6" sheet of Tando and  white gesso, this time just one side of the Tando Sheet has been painted.  You will see later how messy I am and how splattered the other side is.

Using just three colours of Glimmer mist, Meadow Green, Sunflower and Pumpkin Pie the surface has been liberally sprayed.

Drying speed up with the help of a heat gun, more colour can be added as it is needed.

Now for embellishments, this great Tando Chipboard word has also been sprayed this time with Candy Apple Red and Harvest Orange.

Note the great puddles on the craft mat these need not go to waste and next time page will be using.   Back to this week now

Colour a Tando bird with more Glimmer mist this time Sunflower and Harvest Orange.   When colouring the pieces with spray it is easy to spray the side edges as well.

A Tando heart, left over from a previous project, coloured with another favourite Inka Gold, in red over the top and round the edge.   Just a note with this pigment recently learnt that if you dip your finger directly into the paste you might find later that it has grown mould.   It seems that the natural bacteria on our hands reacts with the paste and causes this.   If you want to use your fingers to spread the paste it is probably best to transfer some to your craft mat first.

An old paw print PSX stamp marked across the page with Adirondack Espresso.   The same ink is used to colour the branch the bird will perch on.

The heart was stamped with another old PSX stamp, this one dated 1999 which makes it an antique.   The paw on the Cattitude Tando piece has been picked out with Sakura pen.

All the Tando pieces attached with PVA glue, to finish this side of the Tando sheet.

This side has been left raw and just splatters of white gesso and then sprayed with the same colours as before.    Without the gesso the colours are richer but lack the texture of the brush marks.

Tando cogs mask places over the top and Inca Gold tapped through it.   All these masks are based on the 6" square and so this one fits perfectly.  They are also very hard wearing take a lot of punishment and simply wipe clean.

The stenciling adds some texture where the pigment paste is a little thicker.    Those white gesso marks are beginning to disappear into the back ground now.

This is the only page that will have embellishments on both sides.  While exploring Glimmer Mist thought it would be interesting to show you how it looks on white lined Tando.   The butterfly has been sprayed with the same three colours, the white lining reflects the colour back.

The corner flourish has been coloured with Inca Gold.

Prima white flowers are the last of the embellishments for this page.   Once more the glimmer mists added colour

The page has been assembled and the edge of the Tando sheet given a Sakura Pen touch gold edge.   This was also run along the page edge to cover the last of the Gesso marks.

Another page complete and lots of messy fun to be had doing your own.   Remember the linkz collection will remain open for 4 weeks for you to add your page and the comments section will be monitored for any questions you have, the answers will be published there.   Have fun!
